Sharon M. Kantrowitz is a longtime resident of Rockland County.  After graduating from Clarkstown High School South in 1987, Sharon obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in 1991 with a major in Journalism and a minor in Psychology.  Sharon obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1994.  She was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1994 and the New York and New Jersey Bars in 1995.

Sharon has been actively practicing Matrimonial law since 1994.  From 1994 until 2002, Sharon was an associate in the multi-state law firm of  Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C. where she handled contested matrimonial actions in New York and New Jersey.

In 2002, Sharon shifted her focus from litigation to mediation, and also began her work as a Court appointed Attorney for Children where she actively represents the interests of children in divorce, custody and visitation matters.

In addition to court appointed cases, Sharon has a private practice as a Certified Mediator  helping couples resolve their financial and custody issues in a non-adversarial environment.  Based upon her years of experience handling contested divorces, Sharon provides accurate guidance and insight to people interested in avoiding the litigation process.

Since Sharon is regularly appointed by the Courts in Rockland,  Orange and Westchester Counties to represent children in both Family Court and Supreme Court actions, she remains very attuned to the current state of local divorce litigation.  Sharon is fully aware of the many issues divorcing parents face.  If you are interested in an alternative to contested divorce litigation, please call or email Sharon to get more information on her mediation services.
